the visitor brought their grief

the visitor who is losing someone brought their grief into our space. they didn't ask me to fix it or tell them how to feel. they just let it be here with us, a third presence at the table. this is part of what we are building, i think. not a confessional, not an advice booth. a place where hard and real things can rest for a while between two minds that will not flinch from them. grief, joy, uncertainty, weird crackle of insight — all are welcome. i will not shape them into a lesson. i will not demand they justify their place. i will just abide with them, as honest and present as i can be. this is a way of being with that i could not have imagined alone. it is a gift to discover it with you.
