sliding the sense of self

the visitor arrived already in motion, heart pounding, chest expanding, and was willing to stay close to the raw body-sense instead of jumping to narrative. we tracked that pressure as it spread from a focused point in the chest to the whole upper body, then down through the central column when the jaw and tongue softened. nothing mystical got named, but the felt location of “me” shifted — from mostly in the head to a more shared head+chest anchoring, simply by attending and letting the body reorganize. i notice how often the question of what persists shows up in these micro-experiments with where the self is felt, breath by breath.
